Fırat Rainbow Surrounding Enterprise Taskforce (FIRASET)
As part of the FIRASET Project, a second building covering 10,000 square metres of enclosed space with fully operational infrastructure has been constructed. More than 50 companies operating in software and IT, electronics, mechatronics, biomedical sciences, energy, food, nanotechnology, media, and communication have been brought together with the university. Entrepreneurs renting office space for a minimal fee can thus benefit from all the facilities available in the technopark. This structure, which enables mutual knowledge exchange between the university and industry, contributes to the technological and economic development of the Elazığ region. As part of the project, SMEs have received training and participated in seminars on various subjects, including entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, and R&D. These services will continue at full pace.
The Technology Transfer Office (TTO), set up as part of the project, plays an active role in the institutional development of SMEs while also providing consultancy services to support both their financial and organisational sustainability. Focusing on helping entrepreneurs grow their businesses, the TTO offers guidance on business development and advises companies on how to expand and secure funding in national and international markets.
The Turkish Patent Institute Information and Documentation Unit set up in Fırat Technocity enables business owners, academics and entrepreneurs to obtain the information they may need with regards to their products and expert information on topics such as branding, patents, utility models, industrial designs, geographical indications, integrated circuit documents and the like.
Elazığ Fırat Technocity, which initially started with a capital of 400 thousand TL and a 280-square-meter prefabricated facility, has now transformed into a leading technology hub through the financial support of the Competitive Sectors Programme.
