‘Mobility for Everyone’: EU and Türkiye Celebrate European Mobility Week 2025
Türkiye is once again emerging as a leading participant in the 23rd annual European Mobility Week celebrations. EMW 2025 will be celebrated across Türkiye, with events taking place in various locations throughout the country.
Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (TBB) will lead the campaign as the national coordinator, with support from the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Türkiye.
From 16 to 22 September 2025, municipalities across Türkiye will organise events to promote sustainable transport solutions, encourage community involvement, and reimagine shared urban spaces. EMW 2025 will feature the active participation of various stakeholders, including environmental NGOs, cycling groups, urban planners, and representatives from the private sector. European Union Information Centres (EUICs) will also organise EMW events in 17 cities.
The Acting Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye, Jurgis Vilčinskas, says:
“With the 2025 European Mobility Week, we are proud to celebrate the theme of ‘Mobility for Everyone.’ This vision goes beyond clean and sustainable transport – it is about inclusivity and fairness in urban life. By working together across communities and regions, and by placing people at the heart of mobility solutions, we can ensure that no one is left behind in the transition towards a greener future. I would like to express my appreciation for the active engagement of municipalities, businesses, academic institutions, organisations, and local communities in collaborating to improve public transport, promote walking and cycling, and make shared public spaces accessible to all.”
