The EU was built on a simple idea: peace through partnership.
After centuries of war, we chose cooperation.
Today, that choice matters more than ever.
Democracy. Freedom. The rule of law.
These are the values which guide us in the EU.
And they guide those who wish to join us.
Yet our world is unstable.
Russia’s aggression in Ukraine threatens global security, energy, and food supplies.
The Middle East faces conflict and crisis. In times like these, Türkiye’s role is vital. Through diplomacy, you build bridges when others burn them.
Our economies are deeply connected. The EU Single Market is one of the world’s greatest economic forces.
Türkiye is part of it through the Customs Union.
Last year, our trade hit a record €217 billion.
1/3 of foreign investment here comes from the EU.
This is not just trade. It is trust.
The private sector drives this partnership.
Without businesses leading on sustainability, digital change, and innovation, our plans mean nothing.
I see that leadership here in Türkiye.
We are not just trading partners. We are allies in NATO.
Türkiye is a candidate country of EU.
Türkiye is a host of major global events this year.
Your place in Europe’s future is clear.
So let us look ahead.
Together, we can build resilient, competitive economies.
Together, we can face a changing world.
