EU Heads of Mission condemn in the strongest terms the assassination yesterday of their esteemed colleague Andrei Karlov, Russian Ambassador to Türkiye, and convey their most heartfelt condolences to his family, his colleagues at the mission, and the Russian authorities and people that Ambassador Karlov so professionally represented. Their thoughts are also with the injured. An attack against a member of the diplomatic community is an attack against all of us. It is also an attack against the principles and fundamental customs of the international community and of the civilized relationship among nations.The EU missions reiterate their strong commitment to standing by the side of Türkiye and their people in their fight against terror.
