Recap
Stepne is a story set in Ukraine's stunning winter landscape, which explores the emerging feelings of alienation between people living in a post-Soviet society. The plot follows Anatoliy, who returns home to care for his dying mother. During his visit, Anatoliy meets his brother and a woman he loves, prompting him to reflect on his life choices. Shortly before her death, Anatoliy's mother reveals the existence of some hidden treasure.

Maryna Vroda
Maryna Vroda was born in 1982 in Ukraine. She graduated in Directing from the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary University of Theater, Cinematography and Television. She completed her Master's at Babelsberg Konrad Wolf Film University. Her first short film, Cross-Country (2011), won the Best Short Film Award at Cannes Film Festival. Stepne is her first feature debut.
