Set in post-war Rome in 1946, There's Still Tomorrow follows Delia, a working-class wife and mother struggling to hold her family together in a city marked by poverty, social upheaval, and the promise of political change. As Italy prepares for a historic referendum that will redefine the nation’s future, Delia navigates the demands of domestic life under the shadow of a controlling and abusive husband. Balancing multiple jobs to support her children, she finds moments of solidarity and warmth among friends and neighbors who share in the hardships of the time. When her teenage daughter’s future begins to take shape, Delia is forced to confront the limits imposed on women of her generation and to reconsider what freedom might mean—for herself and for her child.
Blending drama with poignancy and subtle humor, the film paints an intimate portrait of resilience, quiet rebellion, and hope at a turning point in Italian history.
