The EU step up efforts to advance sustainable forest management in Thailand and in the Region

From 4–7 November 2025, the Asia-Pacific Forestry Commission (APFC31) and Asia-Pacific Forestry Week (APFW2025) took place in Chiang Mai, bringing together policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to advance sustainable forest management in the region.

On 7 November 2025, the EU co-organized two key sessions:

🟢 Technical Side Event: “Emerging Systems for Decoupling Commodities from Deforestation in Asia-Pacific Value Chains: EUDR Regulatory Readiness and Regional Lessons Learned.”

🔵 High-Level Dialogue: “Connecting the Green Dots: Way forward on Digital Public Infrastructures for Forest Risk Commodities – From Growers to Consumers, Making Green Latex Work End to End.”

In parallel, an EU-funded project implemented by GIZ has made available the unofficial Thai translations of key documents on the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) to enhance awareness and understanding among Thai stakeholders. 🇪🇺🇹🇭
