The European Union Delegation to Timor-Leste is extremely proud that Ambassador Andrew Jacobs has been awarded yesterday with the "Grau Colar da Ordem de Timor-Leste" by H.E the President of Republic José Ramos-Horta, for all his hard work and dedication during his 3 year term as EU Ambassador to Timor-Leste.  The award is also in recognition of the EU's steadfast support to Timor-Leste since the restoration of independence.

During his time in Timor-Leste, the EU worked through the difficult times of the Covid-19 pandemic, but still remained focused on strengthening cooperation links with Timor-Leste, including injecting direct budget into the Timor-Leste treasury account and working closely with Civil Society in the areas of nutrition, agroforestry, climate change, financial management and decentralisation.

"I am extremely honoured and deeply grateful to the Head of State, the Government and the beloved people of Timor-Leste for the excellent cooperation over these 3 years, an extremely interesting and rewarding passage in my career. Timor-Leste will remain forever in my heart and thoughts", said the Ambassador Andrew Jacobs.
