The Government of Timor-Leste, the European Union (EU), the World Food Programme (WFP), the International Labour Organization (ILO), and UNICEF launched a farmer training initiative in Covalima Municipality aimed at strengthening local food systems, improving nutrition, and expanding access to social protection.

Timor-Leste, 8 August 2026 — From as early as 4:00 a.m., families, students, diplomats, government representatives and athletes gathered at the Nicolau Lobato Presidential Palace for the Dili International Marathon (DIM) 2026, coming together in a celebration of sport, community and a shared commitment to protecting Timor-Leste’s forests and wildlife.
