Who we are
The European Union (EU) is a unique economic and political partnership between 27 European countries. It plays a key role on the international stage, notably through diplomacy, trade, development aid, and cooperation with international organizations. Outside the EU, it is represented through more than 140 diplomatic missions, known as EU Delegations, which act in a similar capacity to embassies.
The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Togo promotes and defends the values and interests of the EU. It oversees all activities related to the management of bilateral relations in the fields of politics, economics, trade, and cooperation. The Delegation is also responsible for communicating EU policies and actions in Togo, monitoring the country’s political, economic, and social developments and their impact on bilateral relations, and managing EU development aid in Togo.
What we offer
We are offering a position as Driver in the “Administration” Section of the Delegation of the European Union to Togo (based in Lomé). The selected candidate will be assigned duties according to the needs of the Delegation. Upon recruitment, the candidate will occupy a specific post as Driver; this role may evolve based on operational requirements.
Responsibilities include driving Delegation vehicles (including for multi-day missions) and managing the vehicle maintenance schedule, under the supervision and responsibility of the relevant Head of Section.

Selection Criteria
Minimum requirements:
- Hold a valid category “B” driving license
- Be medically fit for the required duties
- Enjoy full civil rights and hold a valid work permit as per local legislation
- Have good command of French
- Possess thorough knowledge of the city of Lomé and of Togo
The following will be considered as assets:
- Professional experience with an international public or private organization
- Knowledge of administrative and customs procedures
- Skills in GPS/geolocation tools
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Basic knowledge of English
- Basic computer and social media skills (e.g., WhatsApp)
- Ability to work in a multicultural and multilingual environment
- Ability to work in a team and under pressure

The procedure
After the deadline, applications will be reviewed by a dedicated selection committee. A shortlist of the most suitable candidates will be drawn up based on the evaluation of the submitted documents. Pre-selected candidates will be invited to the evaluation phase, which may include an interview.
Candidates not shortlisted will not be contacted individually. However, once the recruitment process is complete, the Delegation will use the same publication channels to inform all applicants of the outcome—whether a candidate has been recruited or not.
