Life After Today Security Campaign

12.12.2019

Life After Today is a part of the EU’s continued support to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago in the fight against crime and violence in this country.

It is a communications and public education campaign that aimed at disrupting the cycle of crime and violence in Trinidad and Tobago by targeting young persons between the ages of 5 to 19, to provide them with positive alternatives to crime and violence with solutions that can change mind-sets, perceptions and actions.  The campaign also targeted those who interact with young people - NGOs, community leaders, gatekeepers and young leaders – in other words the influencers in their communities – to equip them with strategies to deal with their young charges and to deflate potential toxic situations.

The year-long campaign included multifaceted approaches, such as a roadshow utilizing the performing arts with special emphasis on the ‘spoken word ‘in Trinidad and ‘speech band’ in Tobago; conflict resolution workshops; and an online video /jingle competition.
