12th European Union Human Rights Short Film Competition

The Delegation of the European Union to Turkey organises annually the EU Human Rights Short Film Competition on the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Via the medium of film, we invite you to express your views on aspects of inalienable and non-transferable human rights as laid out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Amateur and professional filmmakers may submit their entries online until 1 November 2022, 18:00.  These short films, which can be based on any genre or technique, must have a duration of between 3 to 10 minutes.  Join us in launching a joint discussion on the issue of human rights.

2022 is the European Year of Youth; and an original short film addressing the issue of youth rights will be awarded a special prize this year.

The Delegation of the European Union to Turkey continues to encourage short-film makers to think about gender equality and climate crisis, too.

Submit your entries to hrsfc@ice-org.eu.  You can download the terms and conditions for taking part in the competition and the entry form using the link provided at the end of this text.

Films applying for the competition will be subject to a pre-selection.  The main jury will assess 10 films for the Human Rights category, 5 films for the Gender Equality; 5 for the Climate Change; and 5 for the Youth Rights.

You may follow the entire process and developments as they unfold through our website and our social media accounts by using the hashtag #EUHumanRightsShortFilmCompetition.

Jury Members are to be announced very soon!
