"I remember with gratitude the reception we held here two years ago when Dr Goodall visited Uganda. We welcomed her, listened to her and witnessed the energy, compassion, & humility that accompanied her formidable intellect. It left a deep impression on me & I know, on many of you," noted Ambassador Jan Sadek.
In Dr #JaneGoodall's memory, partners, friends, admirers & conservationists, including First Daughter Diana Museveni Kyaremera, gathered at the EU Residence to reflect on her extraordinary contributions & reaffirm our shared commitment to protecting our planet.

At the reception, we celebrated not only her achievements but also the hope, curiosity & compassion she championed throughout her life! Guests listened to a surprise but fitting eulogy in spoken word by Standard Chartered Uganda CEO Sanjay Rughani, & that famous Chimp "pant hoots".
On behalf of the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities Col (rtd) Tom Butime, Permanent Secretary Doreen Katusiime conveyed the Government of Uganda commitment to #chimpanzee conservation and to the principles that Dr Jane Goodall championed.

Dr Jane Goodall often said, "What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make."
Dr Jane Goodall (3 April 1934 – 1 October 2025) was an English primatologist and anthropologist regarded as a pioneer in primate ethology, and described by many as "the world's preeminent chimpanzee expert."
