EU inaugurates 5km e-cycling ride to launch Uganda e-mobility expo
The National E-Mobility Expo 2025 is slated for September 18-19, 2025 at the state-of-the-art Kiira Vehicle Plant in Jinja.
Dr. Monica Musenero Masanza, Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, made the revelation at Next Media Park, Naguru, during the launch of the National E-Mobility Expo 2025.
The expo unites policy ambition, scientific excellence, collective ecosystem action, and the power of talent into one resounding national statement: Uganda setting the pace, we are driving our future, together.
Launching the Expo, Dr. Musenero noted that this iconic event is the ignition point of a bold, homegrown movement to reimagine how Ugandans move, build, and innovate.
The event featured the inaugural 5KM E-Cycling Expo, which championed e-mobility for cardiovascular health.
Guillaume Chartrain, Deputy Head of Delegation of the European Union to Uganda served as the chief cycler and was joined by fellow diplomats, representatives of development partners, key industry players, and individuals passionate about sustainable transport and active lifestyles. This was a reflection of the growing multilateral support for Uganda's transition to e-mobility.
"We want to salute the leadership behind the National E-Mobility Expo and are looking forward to it in September. I want to also thank the leadership of the Secretariat, Kiira Motors and all stakeholders," Mr Chartrain said.
