CORINE Land Cover (CLC) in Ukraine

The EU-funded programme “EU4Environment – Water Resources and Environmental Data” builds upon the success of previous programmes like the European Union Water Initiative Plus (EUWI+) and the Shared Environmental Information System Phase II (SEIS). It is supporting Eastern Partnership countries in the preservation of natural resources in line with the European Green Deal and a post-COVID-19 green recovery.

The programme aims to improve human health and wellbeing, as well as the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

It is implemented by a Consortium of European Union Member States (Environment Agency Austria, Austrian Development Agency and International Office for Water-OiEau, France), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

Component 2 of the EU4Environment – Water and Data programme focuses on environmental statistics and open data and considers water accounting, air quality and waste management data, open data and international reporting and sharing of data in line with the principles of a Shared Environmental Information System.

The key objective of the EU-funded programme is the improvement of the use of sound environmental statistics by partner countries and the enhancement of policy-relevant data availability to decision-makers and citizens
