EVENT: HRC 43 - Good Human Rights Stories - Women Empowerment and Gender Equality

17.02.2020

The Good Human Rights Stories initiative is entering its 4th round: The EU Delegation together with coalition partners in Geneva is pleased to co-organise another high-level side event, showcasing Good Human Rights Stories from all continents. Ministers and high-level officials will gather on the first day of the 43rd Human Rights Council to present and listen to Good stories about Women Empowerment and gender Equality from all around the world, in the spirit of celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration.

Since the initiative was launched in September 2018 in New York with the Foreign Ministers of 13 countries from all around the world together with the High Representative of the European Union, the coalition of members has been promoting a fresh & positive narrative on human rights. Some of the stories we present are about small victories for a few people. Others concern laws and constitutions that have extended rights to millions of people. But they all have one thing in common: they have all contributed to better societies for all and allowed our countries to progress collectively.

Speakers include:

President of the Human Rights Council Elisabeth Tichy-Fisslberger
