Call to Action for the Palestinian Children in the West Bank and Gaza

In the margins of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Belgium, and the European Union, are pleased to host a high-level event on the CALL TO ACTION FOR PALESTINIAN CHILDREN IN THE WEST BANK AND GAZA.

The event will be co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan, Ayman Safadi; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Development Cooperation of Belgium, Maxime Prévot; European Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management, Hadja Lahbib, and bring together key speakers, including Under-Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator (OCHA), Tom Fletcher; Chief Executive Officer of Save the Children International, Inger Ashing, and UNICEF Deputy Executive Director, Humanitarian Action and Supply Operations, Ted Chaiban.

 

The event will put the voices of children in the West-Bank and Gaza at the center of the discussion, shed light on operational realities and their impacts on children, and request participants to come with concrete proposals on how they will answer the Call to Action in reality in order to protect children and to bring hope into children’s daily life, today and tomorrow. The concept note of the event will follow.
