Ambassador Martin Selmayr and WFP open the travelling exhibition on Gaza
Ambassador Martin Selmayr, together with WFP‘s Assistant Executive Director, Mrs Rania Dagash-Kamara, opened yesterday the travelling exhibition “Gaza: Stories of Hope and Resilience” in Rome. The exhibition is supported by the UN’s WFP and the European Union.
Rome is hosting the exhibition’s last stop after a tour across 16 European cities. The Palestinian artist Ahmed Muhanna used WFP cardboard boxes - once carriers of humanitarian aid - as his canvas and thus transformed necessity into artistic impression. A deeply moving exhibition that offers a powerful journey through human survival, resilience and hope.
Representatives from the diplomatic community in Rome attended the special event. The exhibition will remain open to the public free of charge until 29 June (Piazza San Silvestro).
