Ambassador Martin Selmayr intervenes at the FAO Council

EU Ambassador Martin Selmayr intervened at the FAO Council on 8 April to express the EU’s deep concern about the severe impact of Russia’s ongoing war of aggression against Ukraine on the Ukrainian people and on global food security. The EU Strongly condemns the deliberate destruction by Russia of Ukraine’s agricultural infrastructure, the targeting of grain ports, storage and export facilities and Russia’s attacks on commercial vessels carrying Ukrainian grain. In this context, Ambassador Martin Selmayr drew attention of all FAO Members to the Register of Damage Caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation for which is now open for claims, including for damage caused to food supply infrastructure. The EU StandsWithUkraine and supports all efforts for a comprehensive, just and lasting peace.
