Ambassador Martin Selmayr meets with Rania Dagash-Kamara, the UN WFP’s Assistant Executive Director for Partnerships and Innovation
On the occasion of this week‘s WFP Executive Board session in Rome, Ambassador Martin Selmayr welcomed Rania Dagash-Kamara, the UN World Food Programme’s Assistant Executive Director for Partnerships and Innovation, and among others also, Ambassador Elissa Golberg, Permanent Representative of Canada to the UN Organisations in Rome, Ambassador Laura Elena Carrillo Cubillas, Permanent Representative of Mexico to the UN Organisations in Rome, colleagues from the European Union, Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) and key WFP decision-makers to exchange views on the future of this central UN humanitarian organisation working for global food security in an increasingly volatile world.
Around 18% of the EU‘s contributions to the UN system go to WFP, and we welcome WFP‘s decisive role in the UN80 process and the Humanitarian Reset, notably its leadership on integrated supply chains.
