Ambassador Martin Selmayr meets WFP Carl Skau

During a meeting today at WFP, Ambassador Martin Selmayr thanked the Acting Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) Carl Skau, on behalf of the European Union, for his committed and efficient work in managing a smooth transition to Luke J. Lindberg, WFP‘s incoming Executive Director. 

In a world of increasing needs and shrinking resources, WFP can count on the EU as a predictable and reliable partner who is and remains committed to effective, reformed and strengthened multilateralism in order to save lives and change lives. Discussions with Carl Skau covered the worrying humanitarian crises in Sudan and Gaza and the shared concerns about the consequences of the escalation in the Black Sea for global food security.
