Ambassador Martin Selmayr participates to the WFP Strategic Dialogue in Rome
At the United Nations’ World Food Programme in Rome today, Ambassadors from all regions held an interactive Strategic Dialogue on the future of this key humanitarian organisation in the field of food security.
Clear messages from the WFP Executive Director, Cindy McCain, Deputy Executive Director, Carl Skau, WFP management and very hands-on country directors on the renewed focus on impact and delivery, localisation, supply chain efficiencies and close cooperation on the ground with FAO, IFAD and other UN organisations.
Very insightful keynote from Guy Ryder on the next steps in the #UN80 process. The EU is and will remain a close and reliable partner of WFP and support it in a predictable manner in the fight against hunger and food crises in the world.
