Forests are essential for our health, well-being, and a healthy planet. They are rich in biodiversity and hugely important in the fight against climate change. The EU Forest Strategy for 2030 is one of the flagship initiatives of the European Green Deal and builds on the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030.
Ambassador Martin Selmayr is glad to represent this week, together with the great team of EUDEL Rome and DG Environment, the European Union at FAO’s Committee on Forestry (COFO 28). Together, we work at this key UN Organisation for international standards and norms against deforestation, for renaturing and for a sustainable bioeconomy.
