EU Heads of Missions meet at the Embassy of Ireland

Ambassador Patricia O’Brian, kindly hosted the EU Heads of Missions meeting on 22 January.

Ambassador Patricia O’Brian, Permanent Representative of Ireland to the UN Organisations in Rome, kindly hosted the EU Heads of Missions meeting on 22 January.

Among the topics discussed were the “new era of harsh geostrategic competition” for the UN work at FAO, IFAD and WFP, the need of bring together the food security dimension of agricultural, trade, environmental and development polices, the importance for Team Europe to step up the support for Ukraine so that it can “win the war” and ways to work together to bring swiftly grain and food into Syria.

The EU Heads of Mission also exchanged views on the upcoming Biodiversity COP-continuation that will take place at FAO from February 25.
