EU Heads of Missions at the UN in Rome at the EU Council’s AGRI-FAO Working Party in Brussels
This week, the EU Heads of Missions at the UN in Rome joined their colleagues at the EU Council’s AGRI-FAO Working Party in Brussels to reflect, together with senior representatives from EEAS and EU Commission, how to ensure the best positioning of TeamEurope at the UN’s FAO.
Our discussions focussed on One Health, the devastating impact of climate change on agriculture and food security, a competitive and sustainable bioeconomy, FAO’s contribution to social protection as well as on UN reform and its close links to the FAO review.
This was a useful strategy meeting and to all colleagues who took an active part in it. United and working on the basis of principled pragmatism, the EU can be a formidable and positive force for effective, renewed and strengthened multilateralism.
