Grand Chancellor of the Sovereign Order of Malta at Villa Europa

Today, Villa Europa had the privilege to host, at the meeting of the EU Heads of Missions accredited to the Holy See in Rome, H.E. Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo, the Grand Chancellor of the Sovereign Order of Malta. 

The EU and 19 of our Member States have diplomatic relations with this historic subject of international law, which is at the same time a very important humanitarian actor and an Observer at the United Nations. 

Together with Ambassador Martin Selmayr, the EU Heads of Missions exchanged views on the humanitarian work of the Order of Malta in Ukraine, Lebanon, Syria, Gaza and in Africa. In these challenging times where global needs are multiplying, it is crucial to team up with all those who work for a world of solidarity, of international law and of humanitarian assistance to the most vulnerable.
