Retreat of the EU Ambassadors to the UN in Rome

Many points were discussed around the table. What are the EU priorities at the Rome-based UN Organisations at FAO, WFP and IFAD? In an increasingly volatile world, how will we use our collective position as the largest contributor to FAO and second largest donor to WFP to strengthen multilateralism, sustainable development and international law, the fight against hunger and climate change and international solidarity for Ukraine? How do we make FAO fit for the future? What is the future of the UN CFS? 

These were topics of today‘s very productive retreat of the EU Ambassadors to the UN in Rome, kindly hosted by Belgium Rome and the European Union Delegation. The successful retreat was held with in a strong TeamEurope spirit. A very good start for our challenging joint multilateral work in 2026/2027!
