San Marino is now on the way to become an associate EU Member!

We are very pleased that San Marino is now on the way to become an associate EU Member on 1 January 2027, thanks to an Association Agreement negotiated by the European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maros Sefcovic. 

The European Union teams up with close neighbours who share our values and includes San Marino in our single market. San Marino is already systematically aligning with EU positions in the United Nations. They also use the euro as their currency. 

We look forward to the signature of the agreement in September!
