The U.S. Mission to the UN Agencies in Rome at Villa Europa

Ambassador Martin Selmayr welcomed today at Villa Europa Ambassador Lynda Blanchard of the U.S. Mission to the UN Agencies in Rome. A constructive exchange took place on the many shared priorities for the Rome-based UN Organisations FAO, WFP and IFAD. Over the months to come, Ambassador Martin Selmayr wants to work closely together on making the most of the FAO reform process and on finding an efficient new leadership for FAO that will ensure accountability to Members and synergies between the Rome-based agencies. Ambassador Selmayr also wants to work together to preserve stability and consensus at WFP so that it can continue its essential humanitarian work in the too many crisis hot spots in the world.
