World Food Day celebration on 16 October

Today, on the World Food Day, we celebrate 80 years of the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome. 80 years of the United Nations, 80 years of working together on peace, security, sustainable development and human rights. The EU is a member of FAO alongside our 27 EU Member States. 

In times of a very volatile international system, we are working closely together with our allies in Rome to make FAO more efficient, more transparent, more inclusive, and more accountable. Because improving food security remains a top priority for the international community.
