The discussions demonstrated notably support from the manufacturing industry to decarbonisation policies in both the EU and the UK and efforts deployed to develop technologies to decarbonise aviation, notably thanks to Horizon Europe.
At the conclusion of the visit, Nicole Mannion, EU Deputy Ambassador to the UK, delivered a speech celebrating the enduring cooperation between the EU and the UK in the aviation sector through the Trade and Cooperation Agreement and the International Civil Aviation Organisation, and expressed optimism about future collaborative projects and research for greener aviation facilitated by the UK's return to Horizon Europe and Copernicus. EU Deputy Ambassador emphasised that this reintegration enhances opportunities in space and strengthens efforts to address environmental and climate challenges. The EU remains committed to work towards a sustainable and secure future.
