Dictée des Francophones

In celebration of the National French Week (November 1-5) and of the Francophonie Summit in Djerba (November 19-20), Francophone Embassies in the United States in partnership with the French Embassy and the American Association of Teachers of French invite you to take part in the Dictée des Francophones.

This initiative celebrates the diversity of the French language throughout the Francophone world. To do this, the dictée will rely on the “Dictionnaire des francophones” - a collaborative project of the OIF which compiles a vast ensemble of terms from francophone countries - and particularly on Franco-American and Franco-Caribbean terms.

The texts of the dictées will be accompanied by educational materials for teachers to use to highlight different francophone lexicons from around the world.



After registering, you will receive, via email, access to the texts for the three dictées, the workbook material, and your free subscription for a year at France Channel.

 

You will have until the end of November to share photos of your dictée from your school/establishment using the hashtag #DicteeDesFrancophones2022 on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter to be entered into a raffle drawing for prizes provided by our partners France Channel, France-Amérique, Klett World Language et Hachette.
