The European Union, represented by the European Commission has launched the procurement for a partnership and cooperation opportunity in the United States, concerning city diplomacy and urban development in North American cities (Canada and the US).

The overall aim of the initiative is to foster collaboration between European and North American cities and to strengthen transatlantic urban diplomacy.

Proposed project activities (not an exhaustive list): Thematic networks and pairings on specific priorities; a knowledge platform with information on policy and best practices; Pilot innovative policy initiatives with a multi-stakeholder approach.

This action will build on the successful experience of the International Urban and Regional Cooperation Action in North America (IURC NA) and its predecessor, the International Urban Cooperation Action (IUC). Synergies will be promoted with the GCoM and other EU projects in Canada and the USA dealing with topics related to the European Green Deal and Sustainable Urban Development.
