EU-U.S. Agricultural Ties Continue to Deepen

The European Union and the United States are the world’s biggest agricultural producers and major players in global agri-food trade. As exporters, they take first and second place respectively, whereas agri-food imports were equivalent during the period of the study. They share an important agricultural relationship that affects millions of producers and consumers on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

In a newly released comparative report, produced for the Delegation of the European Union to the United States, transatlantic agricultural ties between the two global agri-food leaders are shown to be extensive and complementary. Agricultural production, structures, and support are compared, as well as the progress in agriculture's transition to more sustainable practices.
