European Jazz in the Heart of Washington, D.C.
Top jazz musicians from across Europe take the stage in two special performance series starting in September at DC Jazz Fest and at European embassies around the nation’s capital, celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and the power of jazz to bring people together across borders and cultures.
"Jazz speaks in a language every human heart understands,” EU Ambassador to the U.S. Jovita Neliupšienė said. “When jazz musicians first brought their distinct sound across the Atlantic, they found in Europe more than an audience. They found collaboration and inspiration. The performances in these series carry forward that same spirit of artistic exchange today."
