Awards ceremony for the winners of the drawing competition of 2026

The young winners of the drawing competition visited the EU Delegation in Uruguay to collect their certificates.

The winners of this year’s drawing competition, held under the theme ‘From here to there: drawing trade between Europe and Mercosur’, were invited to the delegation building to receive their prize.

The ambassador, Petros Mavromichalis, spoke briefly with the winners and congratulated them on being selected from among all the entries.

A total of 143 entries were submitted to this year’s competition from 29 schools and colleges across 10 departments.

The winners, some in person and others online, received a certificate and some gifts to help them continue developing their talent for painting.

Avive Palomino was the winner of the competition. Alongside her, Martina Castillo, Julia Trías and Ezequiel Muller were invited after being awarded a special mention.

The drawings were selected by a panel of experts, who assessed their originality, understanding of the theme and technique.

The children, together with their families and teachers, were able to enjoy a special morning at the delegation and share their experiences of the process, gaining a better understanding of the work of the European Union.
