10.12.2021

La sesión plenaria final se realizó en el Palacio Legislativo.

The final plenary session was held at the Uruguayan Parliament.

This year, the EU Delegation organized the Euromodel for the second time in Uruguay. It was implemented with the help of the Center for Development Studies (CED) and the support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS)

The objective of the initiative is to foster the fundamental values and principles of the European Union, promote dialogue, and strengthen the commitment to civil society, democracy and the rule of law among young Uruguayans.

This year, the common thread of the Euromodel was “The new digital era” and it consisted of two phases. The first phase, called #AcercatealaUE, sought to develop participants' knowledge of the workings of the European Union through a series of webinars. The second phase included trainings and tutorials with professionals in diplomacy, negotiation and political participation, who provided the necessary training for participation in the final face-to-face stage.

60 young students selected from all universities in the country took part in this final face-to-face stage. It consisted of two days: a session in commissions and a plenary session. The first was held on 25 November at the Regency Way Hotel, and the second on 26 November at the Legislative Palace, seat of the Uruguayan Parliament.
