Day one of the III European Investment Forum was held in Uruguay

Three Cabinet Ministers and a number of prominent figures from the EU and the business world took part

 

The first day of the III European Investment Forum in Uruguay was held today. The event was organized by the EU Delegation to Uruguay, the Eurochamber in Uruguay and the Uruguayan Chamber of Commerce & Services within the framework of the InsPYraME UE project.

EU Ambassador Karl-Otto König, Eurochamber President Luis Martínez, Uruguayan Chamber of Commerce & Services President Julio Lestido, Environment Minister Adrián Peña, EC Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis (remotely), and Foreign Affairs Minister Francisco Bustillo all participated in the opening session.

The first panel, which dealt with the importance of services in the 21st century, included Economy & Finance Minister Azucena Arbeleche and DG Trade Director María Martín-Prat (in charge of services and digital commerce, investments and intellectual property).

The second panel, on port services, waterways and logistics, included Transport & Public Works Undersecretary Juan José Olaizola and a number of experts in the field.
