Webinars within the framework of the Young Euromodel Program

The Young Euromodel Program, carried out for the first time in Uruguay, aims to deepen the commitment of the European Union with future leaders of Uruguay, promote learning and understanding of the European project, its principles, values and policies, as well as promote democracy, constructive dialogue and the development of consensual decision-making processes, bringing young university students closer to European institutions.

In this framework, the EU Deputy Head of Mission, Tomas Pospisil, has been part of two webinars with the participants of the program.

The first, entitled "Young People in Decision Making", focused on the importance of young people as agents of change and the need to give them a voice and participation in organizations.

The Director of the National Institute of Youth, Felipe Paullier, participated in it, mentioning high youth unemployment and pointing out that it is necessary to create opportunities.

It was the Director of the CED, Agustin Iturralde, who moderated the event.

The second webinar was called "The EU's leadership in the fight against climate change". In this, the Deputy Head of Mission of the EU, Tomas Pospisil, highlighted the importance of climate change as a global challenge, emphasizing the drive and commitment of the EU in the matter. He also pointed out the relevance that this issue acquires with the recent creation of the Ministry of the Environment in Uruguay.

The webinar was attended by specialists in climate change from the EU headquarters in Brussels: Ismo Ulvila and Manuel Carmona from the General Directorate of Climate; and María Jarvio from DEVCO EUROCLIMA +.

The event was again moderated by the Director of the CED, Agustin Iturralde.
