EU Statement on AOB: “Code of Conduct of Permanent Council meetings”, OSCE Permanent Council No. 1571
Mr Chair,
In light of the statements made at last week's Permanent Council meeting, the European Union wishes to recall that offensive, degrading or insulting language has no place in OSCE meetings.
The EU calls on all participating States to refrain from using such language and to conduct discussions in a spirit of mutual respect and professionalism, in line with the principles and values of the OSCE. Respectful dialogue is essential for maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of our work.
This statement is open for alignment by all OSCE participating States.
Albania, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, Georgia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, San Marino, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom align themselves with this statement.
