Empowering Civil Society and Workers (ECOW)
The overall objective of the action is to enhance the capacity of labour-related CSOs to contribute to governance and development in Vietnam.
The specific objective is to strengthen labour-related CSOs’ internal governance, accountability and legitimacy through enhancing capacity for networking, research and evidence-based advocacy
Result 1: A network of labour-related CSOs is established for sharing best practices and knowledge, increasing awareness and accountability, and improving legitimacy as development actors, including through joint actions
Result 2: Targeted CSOs are strengthened through tailored training and financial support to become regional hubs and capacity builders for smaller local level organizations
Result 3: A policy oriented research on the Vietnamese industrialization process and its implications for labour – including a participatory research component involving at least 3,000 workers – is conducted and made available to the CSOs network for strengthening the knowledge base, enabling advocacy and enhancing participation to the policy dialogue
Result 4: The quality of policy dialogue on industrial development, labour and poverty at local and national levels is improved through stronger participation of CSOs
