Technical Assistance for the Implementation of the EU-Vietnam Energy Facility (EVEF)
The objective of this Facility is to help the Government of Vietnam and key stakeholders improve pre-conditions for universal energy access, utilize renewable energy and increase energy efficiency.
This technical assistance facility is part of the EUR 108 million's Energy Sector Policy Support Programme (ESPSP) of the EU to enhance access to sustainable energy in rural areas of Viet Nam and contribute to a more sustainable energy sector by promoting efficient, clean and renewable energy available to all citizens. TheFacility will contribute to:
- Enhancing governance of the energy sector to facilitate a shift to a more sustainable energy development in Vietnam.
- Strengthening the regulatory framework to implement Vietnam’s commitment to reducing the energy-related greenhouse gas emissions, which is part of Vietnam’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
The EU – Viet Nam Energy Facility is co-financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in the framework of Phase II of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Project, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in close cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
