EU ambassadors meet President Rashad al-Alimi

EU Heads of Mission (HoMs) accredited to Yemen met today in Riyadh with President Rashad al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC).

 

They reiterated the European Union’s strong support to President al-Alimi and stressed the crucial importance of PLC unity, reforms and addressing the urgent needs of Yemenis.

 

EU HoMs expressed once again the European Union’s unflinching support to the work of the UN Special Envoy. They called for the parties to engage constructively with him and to further extend and expand the truce and turn it into a just and inclusive political settlement. They underscored the importance of the parties upholding their commitment to implement the truce’s terms and make use of its mechanisms (notably the Military Coordination Committee) and called for opening access roads to Taiz.
