EU local statement on UN-led peace efforts

The Delegation of the European Union issues the following statement together with the diplomatic missions of the EU Member States accredited to Yemen:





 

The Delegation of the European Union reiterates our firm and unflinching support to UNSE Grundberg at this crucial moment in ongoing peace efforts in Yemen.



We stress in particular the importance of the truce, which continues delivering tangible benefits to and alleviating the suffering of Yemenis.



In this context, we call on the parties, especially the Houthis, to continue engaging constructively with UNSE Grundberg and his proposals, particularly with respect to the reopening of roads notably around Taez.



The European Union will continue to work with all parties in Yemen, and in full support of UN Special Envoy Grundberg, for a just and inclusive political settlement of the conflict.
