The Job

 

The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Zimbabwe seeks to employ a Task Manager to support the Green Economic Growth activities (Group I) for the Agriculture, Private Sector & Trade Section of the Delegation. The post is based at the Delegation offices in Harare. The incumbent will report to the Head of Agriculture, Private Sector & Trade.

The jobholder will support the Operations Section in the Delegation in the implementation of the national Multi-annual Programme (MIP) between the EU and the Republic of Zimbabwe and of the sub-Saharan MIP, more particularly regarding private sector development, renewable energy and other infrastructure. He/she will build relations with the private sector in view of supporting investments, of building a forum for consultation and of reporting on economic matters

 

Overall description of duties

 To advise on and manage, under the supervision of  the  Team Leader and of the Head of Cooperation, the implementation of projects and programmes of development cooperation under his area of competence , including use of EFSD(in full) guarantees

  • To assist his/her Team Leader, the Head of Cooperation and the Head of Delegation in building the appropriate network with the private sector and European Financing Institutions
  • Contribute to economic reporting.

Post requirements

Qualifications

University degree of minimum three years - a master’s degree will be an advantage – in economics, business and finance, social science, international relations, law, political science or any other relevant qualification.

Professional experience

Job related experience:

- minimum 5 years working experience in private sector development in Zimbabwe,  or investment promotion or banking sector or business environment or investment project design or similar relevant experience

- experience in supporting investment in the energy sector will be an advantage

Other requirements

- Very good knowledge of the private sector in Zimbabwe

- Excellent communication skills (as demonstrated by participation as speaker in investment fora or seminars)

- Excellent oral and written knowledge of English

- Knowledge of software such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel and other
