Special events around the world to enjoy from Brussels and your own home! Check out all our activities
The European External Action Service (EEAS) reopens its doors to the public! After two years of celebrating Europe Day online due to coronavirus restrictions, on 7 May visitors are invited to the EEAS building in Brussels and to participate in a range of exiting activities: Explore the EU’s presence in the various regions of the world; what the EU is doing for a safer Europe and international peace; or how the EU protects its citizens when on holiday abroad – these are just a few examples of what our thematic stands are offering to visitors on the day!
In addition, you will have the chance to discuss with EU Ambassadors, follow presentations and enjoy our social media photo booth, as well as artistic performances. As one of the highlights – and as a sign of our solidarity with Ukraine – we are proud that a choir of Ukrainian musicians have agreed to perform at the Open Day.
Keeping up the spirit with more international tunes, round off your visit by attending the special African Concert at the entrance to Parc du Cinquantenaire just outside the EEAS building at the early evening hours. Also at the Parc du Cinquantenaire, you will be able to assist to the unique #ThankYouTour from the Ukrainian All-star band.
For those outside the European capital, we also offer the opportunity to participate online:
- test your knowledge by taking our popular Europe quiz;
- on 9 May, tune in to the live discussions with EU Ambassadors on Facebook, where you can engage with our Diplomats based around the globe on current events.
Join us in Brussels or from home and immerse yourself in hours of culture, information, entertainment and more. Welcome to the European External Action Service!

Europe Day: For the first time since 2019 we were able to gather again to celebrate with you not only European Unity and Solidarity but also the Future, as 2022 marks the European year of the Youth.
Regrettably, this year’s celebration will be overshadowed by the war in #Ukraine.
As such, we had a special Europe Day reception and a charity raffle, from which the proceeds went towards the purchase of medical kits and medicines for those in need in Ukraine under the umbrella of the Ukrainian Youth Association in Austria (https://gotuma.org/en).
From Ukraine to Brussels, "Soul of Ukraine" spreads messages of peace and solidarity through music. #EuropeDay
