Funded traineeship for young graduates at the EIB Regional Representation Office for Southeast Asia and Pacific
Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of the EIB mission and how the EIB can improve the communication of impact-related information to and from the Regional representation Office to the Bank’s headquarters?
We Offer :
A traineeship of 3 to 6 months within the EIB Regional Representation office in Jakarta, starting in March/April or October 2026, subject to budget availability.
Main task :
-
Identify and gather Bank-relevant insights and information and contribute to the drafting of various documents, such as reports, memoranda, speeches, presentations, and notes.

Monitor political, economic, geopolitical risk, media, and information aspects developments in SE Asia & Pacific; deliver concise daily/weekly/monthly digests. Assist in drafting briefings, speaking points, and presentations for the Head and visiting VPs/Senior Management

Support in the planning, coordination, and logistical support of events and official missions for Vice Presidents and other Senior Management, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to institutional protocols.

Maintain an up-to-date regional knowledge base and information sharing.

Conduct research on priority countries, sectors, or climate finance topics aligned with EIB priorities. Contribute input to corporate reports, keep up to date social media of the EIB.

Support colleagues of the Headquarters' team on projects as needed (e.g. preparation of Annual Report...).

Qualifications or special requirements :

Taking into account the local health and security conditions, only applicants currently residing in Indonesia will be considered.

Candidates must have graduated from university and must have maximum one year of professional experience after graduation

Motivated candidates, interested to work in the international relations.

Experience and study and knowledge of international banking is an asset
-
Written and oral fluency in English. Knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is strong asset.

Important Information to read before applying
Before applying
Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses. As an indication that monthly grant for the year 2025 was Euro 700/month, which will be converted into Indonesian Rupiah. These amounts may be revised for traineeships starting in 2026, all cost related to travel, visa, insurance, accommodation must be borne by the trainee.
Applications from no-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by e-mail. In case the selected candidates are not able to present the required documents, their application will be rejected.
The traineeship can only be offered in compliance with local legislation as well as the legislation of the country of origin.
Citizens from EU Member states :

Must provide proof of an insurance covering medical risks (including pandemics) and the cost of repatriation.

Must already hold a relevant residence permit, for the envisaged duration of the traineeship in compliance with Indonesian local legislation.

No assistance will be provided for arranging a relevant visa.
