Vuk Maras, journalist: "All my family, friends, colleagues are vaccinated now and we can finally get back to the ordinary, normal reality"
I got the first vaccine shot as soon as it became available in my region, and I was re-vaccinated 15 days ago. It has been a difficult year and a half, with restricted movement, lockdowns, and various limitations which have significantly affected mine and the lives of all of us. Now, with the benefits of modern medicine, which have brought us the vaccine, we can finally start getting back to normal.
Having in mind I run a regional media association, my job requires a lot of traveling, meetings with different people, and constant direct contact with a number of persons. And I enjoy it a lot. All this has changed overnight when the pandemic started.
During the previous period, I was infected twice with COVID-19. Although I was lucky, and my symptoms were mild, not many people around me had that luck and faced severe and lethal consequences. This is the main reason why the appearance of vaccines makes me so happy.
I am a very extrovert person who enjoys spending time with people, both in private and in professional life. And now I am finally allowed to do so, without thinking about dangers I might come in, or I might bring other people to. All my family, friends, colleagues are vaccinated now and we can finally get back to the ordinary, normal reality.
A reality where hugs and kisses are not an unusual, dangerous thing but rather a normal life we have had before.
