About the Ambassador
Ambassador Duccio Bandini has over 25 years of experience across Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas. He has covered assignments in EU delegations in Colombia, Lebanon, India, Syria, and Venezuela, focusing on crisis response, international development cooperation, and diplomatic relations. He holds a Laurea in Political Science (University of Florence) and an MSc in Development Management (LSE), and speaks Italian, English, French, and Spanish.
Since September 2025, he serves as Ambassador to the EU Delegation in El Salvador and as the EU Representative to the Central American Integration System (SICA).

Message from the Ambassador
It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Delegation of the European Union in El Salvador and to SICA. In this space, you will be able to learn about our initiatives, projects, and activities that aim to strengthen cooperation between the EU and El Salvador, as well as our commitment to the region. You will also have the opportunity to deepen your understanding of the EU’s work as a global actor, our positions, and our priorities.
The European Union is a close partner of El Salvador and Central America, supporting development, democracy, and security, as well as modernization agendas and the transition toward greener, more digital, fair, and sustainable development models. Our cooperation reflects the commitment of the EU and its Member States to the well-being of the population and progress in areas of shared values and mutual interest.
The Association Agreement between the EU and Central America, which as of May 1, 2024 is in force in all its components, strengthens our political, economic, and cooperation ties, creating new opportunities for all to seize.
