Election day in Colombia, legislative and inter-partisan voting Sunday

Today, Sunday, March 13, legislative and inter-party elections are taking place in Colombia. The European Union Electoral Observation Mission is present at different points in 29 departments of the country. 140 observers are deployed all over the regions.
This morning Javi Lopez, the head of the mission was in Corferias, the largest voting center in the whole country. Together with the observers, the chief toured the voting tables and around noon visited the press center where he spoke to the media.
"We are all over the country paying close attention to the conditions and circumstances in which this day is taking place. We have observed the installation of the tables, the work of the juries, the participation of the citizens and we will also follow the count", said Lopez to the press and added: "we know that there are structural and security challenges, and we remember that today there is an innovation we are following very closely, which are the peace seats".
In another part of the capital, in the district of Kennedy, in the southwest of Bogota, was the first group of observers. In this locality alone, they visited five different voting points.
In addition to the observers, the EU EOM Core Team, composed by analysts, advisors and monitors in political, legal, electoral, media and social networks issues, has also been attentive to the elections during this election day.
